"Growing up as a competitive athlete, injuries were part of the journey. I was fortunate to have the right team in my corner and experienced firsthand how supportive care can transform both recovery and mindset.
After earning my Doctor of Physical Therapy at the University of Washington, I returned home to Traverse City to start Pure Form.
I wanted to build a practice that looks at the big picture—creating a space centered on genuine connection and a thorough, full-body approach. My goal is to give patients true autonomy over their health, along with a clear, confident path forward.
Helping people understand their bodies, move with confidence, and get back to what they love is a privilege I’m grateful for every day."
Your history, goals, and kinetic chain are considered together — never in isolation.
Understanding the why makes you an active participant in your recovery, not a passive one.
No exercise is off-limits — it just needs to meet your body where it is right now.
Hands-on work is a core part of the process — used thoughtfully to calm the nervous system and support progress at every stage.
Neuroplasticity and sensory re-education are woven into every treatment plan.
Cash-based care means no insurance restrictions, no rushing, and no compromises.
Pure Form is rooted in Traverse City, a place where people genuinely love being active and want to keep it that way. After years living and studying elsewhere, coming home to this community felt like the right place to build something meaningful.
What Julia enjoys most is meeting people exactly where they are — whether that is someone chasing a performance goal, navigating a long-standing injury, or simply wanting to understand their body better. That curiosity and drive to keep moving is what this practice is built around.
Pure Form is located within Mettle and Moxie gym, giving patients access to high-quality equipment and the ability to blend rehab with strength training seamlessly.
Outside the clinic
You will find Julia hiking, running, paddle boarding, practicing yoga, strength training, cooking, and spending time with family, friends, her fiancé, and their black lab.
You’ve been dealing with a lingering issue and want to understand the actual cause—not just walk away with a generic printout of exercises.
You’re curious about how your body works and want to take an informed, hands-on role in your movement, recovery, and long-term health.
You’re looking for a different kind of healthcare experience—one where your full story is heard, evaluated deeply, and taken seriously.
You don’t have to be in pain to be here. Whether you want a comprehensive movement screen, performance optimization, or to fix small inefficiencies before they become bigger problems, we build a foundation that holds up long term.
